Our guest house “B&B Rooi bij de Knoptoren” is located near the Knoptoren, which together with its bell tower, is one of the oldest symbols of our city Sint-Oedenrode. Coming from the highway A50 the first thing you see from Sint-Oedenrode is the Knoptoren. Citizens traditionally call our city Rooi.

In 2017 Sint-Oedenrode together with Veghel and Schijndel merged to a new city called Meierijstad.

In 1999 Sint-Oedenrode was elected as the greenest village in the country. In 2000 the village gained the title “The green heart of the Meierij” after Entente Florale selected Rooi in 2000 as the greenest village from Europe.

The city is located on the Dommel river, and our garden, or rather the garden of our chickens, goes to the bank of the Dommel. In our quiet and green city there are several parks, as Park Kienehoef including a farm park for walking with children. We have also several natural parks as “Moerkuilen”, “Vressels Bos with the Hazenputten”, “Rooise Broek” and the “Scheeken”. A big part of the green structure of Sint-Oedenrode belongs to the “National Landscape Het Groene Woud”, (the green Forest). This is why this area is great for bike rides or walking. (There even is a Bike S.O.S.).

In a 10 min walk you will be in the centre of the city, the market place. There you will find nice restaurants (even one with a Michelin Star and one with a Bib Gourmand) and terraces. Also, all major supermarkets you will find there. In the heart of the city, various events and festivals are held.

Another place of interest is Henkenshage Castle where weddings and parties are held. Around the castle you will find Park Henkenshage which was designed in 1909 by Leonard Springer a famous garden and landscape architect.

The Knoptoren is managed by the organization of Stichting Knoptoren. The Protestant church holds its prayers in it, exhibitions and concerts are arranged, celebrations including weddings are held. On open days you even can visit the bell tower and explore the area from a bird’s-eye view.

Not far from the tower in our garden is a guest house with a separate entrance.

Sint-Oedenrode has excellent public transport connections with Eindhoven (in 20 min with a fast bus to the train station in Eindhoven), Den Bosch and Veghel/Uden/Oss. All these bus stops are in walking distance from our B&B. Airport Eindhoven is just 15 km by car or taxi or even by bus.
